  • Am I safe?
When under hypnosis you are completely safe and aware of your therapist voice throughout the session. If there is anything that it said that you don’t agree with – you wont take it on. Its that simple. Your subconscious is there to protect you, so anything that goes against your religious, cultural or ethical beliefs, your subconscious will have your safety as a primary function.
  • Will I get stuck in a trance?
No – it’s impossible to get stuck in a trance. When under hypnosis, your body and all your muscles will feel so relaxed, but you can open your eyes at any stage and end the hypnotic state straight away.
  • Will it work for me?
You can’t be hypnotised against your will, so it will work if you want it to. If you are committed to making positive change, focusing on that desired outcome, it can be a very powerful tool to help you move in the direction that is right to empower you.
  • But will I lose control and end up clucking like a chicken?
No. This is about ‘therapy’ where you will be in a deeply relaxed state, and you will always be in control. Hypnotherapy has had a bad rap over the years through its portrayal of being ‘entertaining’ on TV and on the stage. If someone volunteers to put their hand up and be picked by a stage hypnotist, they are up for a laugh and know they are there for entertainment purposes. If a person from the audience was dragged up onto the stage against their will, then whatever the stage hypnotist tried - it would not work. Hypnotherapy is safe and secure, tried and tested way before modern medicine was invented. Nowadays, it has been developed to such a high standard to treat ailments with the benefits of receiving no side effects. You will always be in control and can end it at any time by just opening your eyes and coming back into the here and now.
  • What is it?
Hypnotherapy is a powerful technique that can help you regain control back over areas that you feel you have little or no control over. It can help change negative behaviours, break those restricting habits and change those limiting beliefs that have been holding you back. Hypnosis is the medium used for accessing the subconscious mind. By creating a ‘heightened state of awareness’ through deep relaxation methods, the subconscious mind becomes open to accept beneficial suggestions that help promote positive change. It is where your inner resources can establish new patterns of behaviour to promote positive changes such as stopping smoking, control overeating, reduce anxiety, have control over phobias, and break destructive habits. I am committed to helping you achieve your goals so you can become the best version of you and start living your life to your full potential.
  • How does it work?
Us humans are known to have one brain, but two minds. One of our minds is the ‘subconscious mind’ where everything you have ever learnt is stored - how you learnt to walk, how you learnt to talk, how you learnt to drive, how you learnt to run. Its a place where all your automatic resources are gathered, a place where your intuition, emotions, memories, habits and beliefs are stored. The other mind we all have is the ‘conscious mind’ - it is the logical, rational part of you that processes information in order for you to make decisions. Information is filtered through to us through our 5 senses (touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing). Our conscious mind accepts and rejects information through these five senses and makes choices and decisions based on what we need at the time. While the subconscious mind is always working (yes, even when you sleep), it obediently obeys orders from the conscious mind. If you let your ‘conscious’ thoughts run wild and let your imagination take over, the subconscious will deliver emotions, memories and feelings associated with that type of thinking. Its your subconscious way of protecting you and preparing you for whatever may lie ahead.
  • What can I expect?
Now would you be surprised if I told you that you enter into various type of ‘hypnosis’ a couple of times a day? Have you ever watched adverts on TV and not even realised what you have been watching? Been so engrossed in reading an article or book that you haven't heard someone calling your name? caught yourself day-dreaming and all of a sudden snapped back into the here and now? Its that state of ‘focused concentration’, where you ‘zone out’ and that automatic response takes over. We can also access it by closing our eyes and after relaxing the body, begin to ’focus’ on the internal thoughts and feelings we have around certain behaviours and actions. The process of hypnosis is an overall a very pleasant experience as it only works and becomes effective if you are completely and totally relaxed - both body and mind.
  • What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy involves visiting the past, where past emotional disturbances begin to take root and its here that we can deconstruct these issues in a safe environment so they can have a chance to heal. Coaching works together in an active manner to help the client uncover their own healing potential. Coaches help clients get through stuck behavioural patterns and find new ways implement strategies for change.
